This was the Honor Award Ceremony held at Lutheran South Academy on April 30, 2009.
LSA High School Principle, Mike Rathje, begins the night with a welcome.
Academic TAPPS awards are given. Conner had gotten 2nd place in Science at the District meet.
Academic awards were given and Conner received one in Mathematics.
The Principles Honor Roll was announced. These were the seniors with 4.0+ average for all four years of high school. There were six total out of the class of 60 seniors.
Recognition of seniors. They had to state the college they plan to attend, the degree being pursued, and scholarships received. Some of the students were quite creative.
Special awards the seniors had received were discussed.
National Honor Society stoles were handed out.
Honor cords were handed out. Gold was received for a 4.0+ average and silver for 3.50 to a 3.99 average.
Time for the Salutatorian and Valedictorian awards. If you noticed, one young lady was in almost all the group shots above with Conner. With six students getting a 4.0 average, the school had to use actual grade point averages. There was only a point difference between the averages for Salutatorian and Valedictorian. Conner won Valedictorian.
